#BEAUTY: Guerlain drops Nerolia Vetiver, a scent with natural ingredients

This year, Aqua Allegoria spearheaded Guerlain's sustainable innovation approach to its fragrances, with a collection that embodies the brand's commitment.

The latest scent to join this stable is Nerolia Vetiver, "a floral allegory of Mediterranean light".

To celebrate the reinvention of the Aqua Allegoria collection, perfumers Thierry Wasser and Delphine Jelk have designed an original creation with more than 95 per cent of its ingredients coming from natural origin.

A radiant neroli, highlighted by vetiver and refreshed by basil, is combined with a delicious fig accord.

According to Guerlain, this cent is a "fragrant memory of the landscapes of the island of Ischia in the bay of Naples and the generosity of Nature, whose light inspires this fragrance with its freshness sculpted by shadow,"

It is also a love story-- Wasser and Jelk fell in love with an exceptional material: an extraordinary neroli from Calabria.

The perfumers designed a backdrop celebrating Mediterranean nature to showcase this extremely pure neroli.

Sparkling bergamot, which has always been a hallmark of numerous Guerlain creations, is infused into it. A lively, zesty, petitgrain, distilled from the leaves of the orange tree, also makes the cut.

The aromatic aniseed-like green freshness of basil, as fragrant as a leaf crushed in the hand and the fruity delight of the fig accord, set against a woody base of vetiver, complete the scent composition.
