“IT was I who had actually changed Fattah Amin’s schedule, which explains his absence on MeleTOP. I’ve arranged for him to appear in another episode instead, during the final week of the screening of Hero Seorang Cinderella,” explained Michael Ang, the producer and co-director of the television drama series.
“I hope this issue won’t be prolonged and let us all carry on by living happily. Let’s stop this fighting. After all, it’s Ramadan. Everyone should be kind to each another during the holy month,” Ang said when contacted by New Straits Times to comment on what had happened after Fattah did not turn up at the set of MeleTOP on Tuesday.
His absence from the entertainment and gossip show, hosted by Nabil Ahmad and Fattah’s former Suri Hati Mr. Pilot co-star, Noor Neelofa Mohd Noor, resulted in an uproar in social media.
Initially the show’s producer Astro wanted Fattah, Fikry Ibrahim and Uqasha Senrose to be on the show on Tuesday.
However, due to a conflicting filming schedule, Ang made the change, which meant that Fattah would only appear on MeleTOP at a later date.
This resulted in Ang, Uqasha and Datin Seri Zizie Ezette turning up on set that night to promote Hero Seorang Cinderella.
Earlier, Ang had uploaded a video with him explaining that Fattah and Hero Seorang Cinderella lead actress Nur Fazura Sharifuddin, would only be on MeleTOP at a much later date.
However, while on air later that night, Neelofa and Nabil mentioned that if the guests of the show cancelled at the eleventh hour, she and Nabil would not be responsible for the no show, referring to Fattah’s absence from the set.
Fattah later responded with a live video on his Instagram, saying that he did not get any directive to be at MeleTOP and mentioned that “those” who did not know his side of the story should not make any assumptions regarding his absence.
Neelofa then wrote on her Instagram responding to him, saying: “...tapi nak pesan dekat orang yang berkenaan, live live juga, tapi jangan sampai producer keluarkan bukti tentang appearance malam ni...” (I wish to advise to the person concerned, you can voice out your opinions but not up to the point where the producer has to show proof regarding tonight’s absence).
Since both celebrities have a huge following, fans from both sides took to social media to give their two cents
and some unkind comments and accusations were hurled, especially at Neelofa.
Meanwhile, the leading stars of Hero Seorang Cinderella, Fattah and Fazura, will be making an appearance on MeleTOP on June 20, during the final week of the drama.
“By then, the two would’ve already finished filming,” said Ang.
Neelofa will not be around to helm the show at that point as well, since she would be performing her umrah.
