(Showbiz) Actress Zahirah MacWilson to replace Nur Fathia in drama series La Luna

KUALA LUMPUR: After actress Nur Fathia Abdul Latiff was sacked from the upcoming drama series La Luna due to commitment issues, the role has been given to actress Zahirah MacWilson.

When contacted by the New Straits Times today, the 22-year-old actress said that the first day of filming had officially begun yesterday.

“I suppose it’s just my luck to be offered this role. I take it as my rezeki as I have just wrapped up filming for another TV series, Duda Pujaan Dara.

“We will be shooting 13 episodes over six weeks.

“Filming locations cover Kuala Lumpur and Johor Baru. This drama series will also be filmed in Bosnia Herzegovina at the end of next month,” she added.

Harian Metro yesterday reported that the producers of La Luna, TenView Sdn Bhd had chosen Zahirah to fill up the void left by Fathia, 30.

Norazah Sahud from TenView Sdn Bhd said that the production found Zahirah to be the perfect match for the role of Luna.

“We were pretty careful in choosing the right actress this time around as we don’t want to deal with anyone with disciplinary problems again,” she said.

“Zahirah’s name came up during our discussions with other production houses,” she added.

La Luna also stars Azrel Ismail, Afiq Muiz and Alisya Sandha.
