KUALA LUMPUR: After an eight-month of getting to know each other, actress and TV host Elfira Loy, 23, and singer Sufian Suhaimi, 25, took the love plunge by getting engaged.
The engagement ceremony was held at Elfira’s home in Alam Damai, Cheras here yesterday.
Attended by 100 family members and close friends, Elfira exchanged seven trays of hantaran (gifts) with five brought by Sufian’s entourage.
Looking resplendent in an attire specially-designed by well-known Malaysian designers Rizman Ruzaini, Sufiyan who was also present, wore a matching batik shirt by Fairuz Ramdan, before changing into a pair of baju Melayu, also by Rizman Ruzaini.
At the engagement ceremony, families from both sides had come to an agreement to set March next year for their wedding.
“The month of March is very special to us. In fact, by March next year, it’ll be one year that we’ve known each other.
“It was on March 8 early this year, when I turned 23, and Sufian waited in front of my house with 23 roses as a birthday gift. And of course, at the time it was his way of telling me that he was serious in our relationship,” said Elfira in a statement issued to the Press.
