KUALA LUMPUR: With her brand new French album, Humaine, there is no stopping singer Nurul Wahab to penetrate the European music market soon.
The album, completed last June comprises seven tracks, all of which are composed by French composer Kirsten Harma.
Although Nurul, married to Frenchman Eric Daniel Depp since 2012, could speak her husband’s mother tongue, she still had to enrol in a language course to improve her fluency and diction.
“Two years ago, I released the single Dan Kini, which was also been translated and recorded in English and French.
“Harma who is my husband’s acquaintance listened to the song must have liked it that he offered to produce a full studio album for me. When opportunity comes a-knocking, there’s no reason for me not to take it even if it can be challenging,” said the 40-year-old artiste in a recent news report.
With Datuk Shake and Indonesian singer Anggun as her inspiration to try her luck in France, the Penang-born singer is also ready to travel back and forth between Kuala Lumpur and Paris to promote her new record.
“At the moment, we have no plans to move there as my husband prefers to live here,” explained Nurul who is currently in France to shoot the album cover and four music videos.
