KUALA LUMPUR: Norlida Ahmad a.k.a. Connie is currently warded at Universiti Malaya Medical Centre’s (UMMC) intensive care unit (ICU).
The 58-year-old, who was a popular actress in the 1980s, had been transferred to the unit since Sunday due to high content of uric acid in her blood, reported BH Online yesterday.
According to her daughter Ally Marisha Afrina Abdullah, 18, her mother is now stable but still under doctors’ supervision.
“Her blood pressure is back to normal. She was initially rushed to the hospital on Friday. Initially, doctors found that the uric acid in her blood was high that it had infected her kidneys. Yesterday, it had spread to her liver,” said Ally.
She added that doctors were still trying to find out what had actually triggered
it.
“As far as I know, my mother has been very careful about her diet and food intake.
Norlida, who won the Popular Actress in Film award at Anugerah Bintang Popular BH in 1989, had starred in various movies including Tujuh Biang Keladi (1984), Bujang Lapok Kembali Daa (1986), Suara Kekasih (1986), Marah-Marah Sayang (1987), Gila-Gila Si Pikoy (1987), Dendang Remaja (1988), Tuah (1988), Guru Badul (1988) and Sumpahan Mahsuri (1989).
