SHAH ALAM: Star couple Fattah Amin and Nur Fazura Sharifuddin will always have a homegrown Cinderella to thank for bringing them together.
This is a ballad written and composed by their friend Aizat Amdan, as the theme from last year's comedy-drama Hero Seorang Cinderella which paired them for the first time.
Fattah, 27, and Fazura, 34, dubbed Fattzura by fans, honoured the song by performing it at their wedding reception for 5,000 fans at the Royale Palace, Kampung Melayu Subang here today.
Their spontaneous decision to sing was loudly applauded, and many guests even sang along with the couple, who walked hand-in-hand along a central platform connnecting the front door to the main stage.
While Aizat could not make it to the three-hour reception which began at 2pm, Fattzura made his presence felt by inviting Harissa Adlynn Halim, 14, to perform his composition Aku Sayang Kamu once again.
The teenager from Pekan first sang the ballad from another Fattzura drama Wanita Terindah at the couple's wedding last November.
Besides Harissa, popular singers Syura, Bob Yusof, Fazli Zainal and Khai Bahar also entertained the crowd. Bob received a roaring applause singing Tan Sri S M Salim's Zapin Budi and Datuk Sudirman Arshad's Joget Kenangan Cinta, likewise Syura who joined him in Salim's duet with Datuk Siti Nurhaliza Pandang Pandang Jeling Jeling.
Fazli and Syura also pleased Fattzura with cover versions of Yuna's Terukir Di Bintang and Dan Sebenarnya respectively, while Khai impressed the crowd with Indonesian singers Once's Dealova and Afgan’s Terima Kasih Cinta.
Wedding planner Reka Teemor decorated the hall with a sea of white curtains as well as royal blue ones on the main stage which housed the ornate, silver dais that combined motifs of waves and trees.
The sides of the hall were surrounded by metallic pillars decked with white roses and violet lilies, and overhead were a dozen chandeliers topped with similar flowers.
White and gold umbrellas lined the narrow plaform which served as Fattzura's aisle, and the couple's elegant lavender and gold outfits designed by Altelia Amani aptly matched their minimalist, yet stylish surroundings.
Guests met and greeted Fattzura in two sessions, and the first was held at 11am specially for sponsors and invited guests.
The reception co-hosted by Radin Amir Effendi of radio station Era FM and Tias Alkhred of TV3 entertainment programme MBuzz, also saw fans perform the poco-poco dance with Fattzura, as promised.
Fattah and Fazura, who snapped selfies with their fans, were engaged last Nov 13 and married in a closed-door ceremony at a prominent hotel in Kuala Lumpur two weeks later.
