KUALA LUMPUR: The social media was a buzz yesterday following news that a popular actress was taken in by the police in connection with drug possession.
What followed was a photo allegedly of actress Uqasha Senrose that went viral said as the individual in question.
Since last night, the 25-year-old artiste had disabled the comment function on her Instagram.
The artiste, whose full name is Nik Zaris Uqasha Nik Sen, was allegedly arrested earlier by the police in an intoxicated state and they also found 53 pills believed to be a synthetic drug called Erimin 5 in her handbag.
Some fans expressed their disappointment on her Instagram but by 11pm, the comment section has been disabled.
Till now, Uqasha has yet to issue any statement regarding the incident.
Yesterday, the city police chief Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim said that the drug found was estimated to be worth RM660 and that the initial urine test on the actress has turned out to be negative for drugs.
The actress was arrested by the police yesterday morning after a man whose car had been hit by Uqasha in Taman Tun Dr Ismail lodged a police report. She was released on police bail last night.
The case is being investigated under Section 12 (2) Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 for drug possession.
