KUALA LUMPUR: Singer Nurul Wahab had a frightful encounter when her youngest son Raphael Depp suffered a seizure while out shopping at the Pavilion Shopping Centre.
The 41-year-old singer recalled the tense situation in an Instagram post yesterday, and was thankful that Raphael did not hurt himself when he collapsed on the floor.
“We were just about to go to the car park when Raphael had an epileptic fit. I quickly got hold of him and made him rest on his side to prevent him from choking —that’s something I learnt from doctors,” said Nurul.
She added that Raphael, 3, had long been suffering from epilepsy and had seizures each time he developed a fever.
"He gets it whenever his body temperature rises. It’s his third seizure, and a lesson for me to be more prepared next time.
“Raphael spent a night in hospital, and doctors told me it’s a viral fever. He’s back home now and his blood test revealed that there was nothing serious.”
Nurul thanked the shopping mall’s management for assisting Raphael, and fellow shoppers who showed their concern.
“I want to thank everybody who rushed to his aid that day. Your quick action saved him.”
Raphael is the younger of Nurul’s two sons from her six-year marriage to Eric Daniel Depp. His elder brother is Zachary, 5.
Netizens expressed concern for Raphael’s health and wished him a speedy recovery.
“Thank God Raphael is on the mend," said Azrul.
“Speedy recovery strong boy!" said Anita.
“Praying that your little hero Raphael gets better. Hugs and kisses to him," said Galuh.
Fatimah said: "Alhamdulilah he’s okay!"
