KUALA LUMPUR: Today marks the 13th anniversary of singer and celebrity chef Datuk Fazley Yaakob’s marriage to Datin Azrene Abdul Aziz.
The loving couple openly show their affection to the delight of their fans and followers.
Fazley, 40, paid glowing tribute to his “soul mate for life” Azrene with a poignant Instagram post today, complete with a short video showing some of their tender moments together.
In Fazley’s caption to the video which was accompanied by his song November Itu, the owner of SukaSucre Restaurant said: “To my beautiful wife, thank you so very much for the most wonderful 13 years of my life, and both of our lives together.
“We came together on Nov 7, with the blessings of our parents and families, we confronted many challenges, yet God was always with us and we prevailed.
“Only we know what we went through together, fighting for our lives, suffering humiliation, losing our sources of income, yet our love remained strong.
“Thank you so much for being my strength, for always smiling despite the pressure to break us apart, for always being adorable despite hardship, for always being patient despite humiliation.
“My dearest wife, you are my soul mate for life, my inspiration always.”
The post garnered a stream of congratulatory messages for the couple who have four children — Ahmad Fariedz Shah, 9, Ahmad Fieradz Shah, 8, Ahmad Firudz Shah, 6, and Alayna Selma, 1.
Last May, Fazley said he and Azrene had decided to exchange their vows once more, 13 years after their marriage.
Fazley, 40, said the couple decided to do so to “erase many sad memories” which happened back then.
Fazley revealed that he and Azrene, who were married in 2007, faced “lots of obstacles” from her mother, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, the wife of former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
Azrene is Rosmah’s daughter from an earlier marriage to Abdul Aziz Nong Chik.
