KUALA LUMPUR: Singer Datin Alyah Abu Hasan is zipping up about her five-year marriage, and leaving Netizens to come to their own conclusions on the matter.
Taking to Instagram today, the 37-year-old artiste, in a lengthy post, wrote that she would not be answering further questions about her marriage to music director Datuk Ramli MS.
The One In A Million Season 1 graduate also apologised to Netizens who criticised her comment on Ramli’s Instagram account last Monday, where she claimed that her husband preferred hilarious birthday greetings from Gegar Vaganza 5 co-hosts Nabil Ahmad and Jihan Muse, over Quran readings at home to mark the occasion.
“All these years, I’ve been the only person to have answered questions about our marriage, and today, I’ve decided to refrain from answering further questions about it, and about him.
“I leave it to all of you to figure things out, and I believe only God knows what’s inside me,” she said.
Alyah said that everyone would experience his or her bad days, and in her case, the past two days saw her at her worst.
“Before I left my comments on his Instagram account, I already knew the repercussions from my actions... I am very sure of that. I’m not a kid who has just received a new handphone.
“I never intended to shame anyone, not even him, and things like this don’t happen on a daily basis.
“I believe God reminded me to take care of him, perhaps our egos got the better of us and made us blame each other.
“I may have hurt some of you out there, and for that reason, I humbly apologise for what I’ve said, I didn’t mean to do so,” said Alyah.
Her cryptic, yet heartfelt message received comments from her fans and followers who told her to stay strong and wished her all the best.
“Toughen up to face challenges ahead, Datin. May you find peace and happiness,” said Hariati.
“No sea is free of storm, Datin. May all of us be strong and brave as He tests us. Do what’s best for you, Datin,” said Fazlin.
“I hope Netizens stop making judgements against you, and give you some space. Stay strong and take care, Datin Alyah,” said Ani.
Alyah had earlier commented on a video uploaded by Ramli who turned 60 on Monday.
The video showed Nabil and Jihan “kowtowing” to Ramli, who said in his caption, “You guys think I’m a deity? Anyway thank you for your birthday greetings!”
Alyah wrote: “This is just what he likes. If we commemorate the occasion with Quran reading he doesn’t seem to appreciate it, and would rather play snooker.”
Several Netizens criticised Alyah for her remarks, and told her to respect her husband.
However, this angered Alyah who replied: “Don’t be a busybody! Try being in my place for a day and you’ll know what it’s like.”
This angered “Team Ramli”, who told the music director to “find a better wife” than Alyah.
Last week, Alyah posted messages in her Insta-stories that seemed to point to her unhappiness.
They read, among others, “It’s tiring to pretend you are happy, “Stop trying to please those who don’t appreciate” and “Sometimes, we need to get rid of toxic stuff inside.”
Alyah uploaded photographs of her late father on her Instagram account with the caption “Apak, if you were still around, nobody would take me for granted”.
Alyah and Ramli have no children together.
