KUALA LUMPUR: Actor Ammar Alfian of Paskal fame has described rumours of his alleged extra-marital affair as “slander”.
The 32-year-old, who has “chosen to keep quiet” called on Netizens to stop spreading rumours as they “did not know the truth”.
He also said that his wife, model Nelissa Nezam who had earlier accused him of infidelity by taking to social media, had apologised to him.
“Some individuals were out to slander me. My wife believed them, but she subsequently apologised for what she said. On my part I’ve forgiven her, just as I’ve forgiven those people,” said Ammar in a news report today.
Johor-born Ammar, who played Jeb, a navy commando who went rogue in Paskal, was accused by Nelissa of two-timing her yesterday.
In an Instastory, Nelissa, who is six months pregnant wrote: “It’s definitely not in my character to publicise such a private matter. It was done out of hurt and anger.”
She added: “The wound is still very raw and my emotions are definitely heightened with me being pregnant.
“However, what is done is done. This is obviously a rough time for me and my family.”
Nelissa hoped that she and Ammar would be able to settle things on their own and prioritise being good parents.
She said that her world had fallen apart when she learnt of his affair, but her loved ones helped her “pick the pieces up”.
“I appreciate all the support but I think the best way to deal with this is in private and I just need to focus on putting my pregnancy first. I believe things happen for a reason and I pray that they will get better.”
Ammar and Nelissa tied the knot on March 6, 2016.
Paskal, screened last year, was directed by Adrian Teh and raked in a whopping RM30.5 million at the box office in two months.
