KUALA LUMPUR: Singer-actor Hazama Azmi will soon be serenading fans with a patriotic song specially for National Day and Malaysia Day.
And better still, he may be starring with Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad in its official music video.
The 36-year-old artiste revealed that he had recorded the song titled Anak Bangsa Malaysia last month, and it was produced by the Defence Ministry.
“It’s a first for me, and I’m following in my mentor Amy Search's footsteps. Amy has performed patriotic songs in the past, such as Kami Salute Malaysia in 2014,” he said at the launch of the official music video of his song Peneman at Hard Rock Cafe in Jalan Sultan Ismail here yesterday.
Hazama, who recorded the song within a day, said he was honoured to appear with the Prime Minister in a music video, the details of which have yet to be finalised.
"Filming is likely to begin next month. The Prime Minister has a busy schedule, but the Ministry will do its best to have him appear with me in it, and I’m very excited to have him as my first VVIP co-star!”
Hazama added that Dr Mahathir will be delivering a monologue to accompany his singing.
Amy or Suhaimi Abdul Rahman was Hazama’s principal in the reality talent show Akademi Fantasia Season 9 in 2011. Hazama beat 13 other contestants to win the 10-week reality show.
Amy joined fellow singers as Zain Hamid, Ronnie Hussein and Caprice in recording Kami Salute Malaysia for National Day 2014.
Peneman was the theme song for TV3 drama series Asalkan Dia Bahagia last March and was written and composed by Tam of Spider.
