KUALA LUMPUR: Actor Syafie Naswip’s hopes of tying the knot the knot with fellow actress Aishah Azman has come to a naught after their engagement was broken off recently.
The 26-year-old Songlap star confirmed it in a news report today.
He said that it was a decision they both had agreed on.
Syafie said that the obstacles that they faced during the three-month engagement were really tough on them.
“If what we had gone through was already unbearable, I cannot imagine the hurdles that may lie ahead in marriage. Perhaps this is the best for us both now,” he said.
The actor who shot to fame through Yasmin Ahmad’s 2007 movie Mukhsin insisted that there was no third party involved in the break up.
Syafie also said that after this clarification, he would not be entertaining questions form the press on the matter after this.
Meanwhile, Aishah has chosen to stay mum over the issue.
Last weekend, Netizens noticed something was amiss when the celebrity couple had deleted photos of them together and unfollowed each other on Instagram.
They were engaged on April 7, after a one-year courtship.
