KUALA LUMPUR: Perhaps one of the earlier local animation series, the superhero Keluang Man will make a return to the small screen soon.
The series which was popular in the 1990s, centres around the justice fighting protagonist, predates other local animation series which are popular now like Upin & Ipin and BoBoiBoy.
In a recent posting on Facebook, Quest Animation Studio announced that the superhero would soon return, but in a "different and compact dimension."
"We will soon release the debut of Keluang Man series in a cuter version than before," read the statement.
A teaser clip from the new series called Keluang Man Cinonet was also shared to fans delight.
Creator of Keluang Man, Kamarudin Ismail had sketched many new concepts and storylines for further development for his little hero, before he died on Dec 8, 2019 due to a heart attack as well as complications from other ailments.
Kamarudin also created Usop Sontorian, another popular cartoon show during that same period.
