KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Ellie Suriaty has revealed that she has been in a special relationship with a single man in his 30s for the past year.
According to a Harian Metro report today, the 53-year-old single mother of two refused to disclose the man's identity, except to say that he is also involved in the arts field.
"We're still in the midst of getting to know each other closer. So, I'm basically just enjoying the process of building this relationship and enjoying its sweet moments.
"Initially, I had wondered why he would want to get close to someone who's older.
"Sometimes, I still find this hard to believe as I'm already 53, not 35. But apparently, he prefers mature woman," she said.
Ellie added that her beau's acceptance of her two children was what sealed the deal for her.
"I wouldn't say marriage is not a possibility, if it is God's will.
"But as for now, I don't want to say more about things which have not happened yet.
"And because he hasn't been married before, I must know for certain that his family would be accepting of me if we were to tie the knot."
After 19 years of marriage, Ellie and former husband Azri Iskandar divorced on May 17 last year.
