#Showbiz: Zul Ariffin willing to assist newbies

KUALA LUMPUR: Award-winning actor Zul Ariffin has no qualms guiding new actors whenever they work together in a production.

"I have no problem working with new actors and actresses. I am ever willing to assist them if the need arises.

"I've been doing so for sometime now, without waiting for producers or directors to ask," said the 35-year-old artiste when met at the 31st Malaysian Film Festival (FFM31) press conference at the Royale Chulan The Curve, in Mutiara Damansara yesterday.

Zul said he felt responsible to help his new colleagues, especially his female co-stars.

"The way I see it is, should my co-star fail to deliver her best, it will definitely affect viewer rating for that particular work," he said.

"At the end of the day, it's all about viewers' enjoyment and satisfaction," he added.

Zul said he had met many new actors and actresses who were nervous in front of the camera.

"So I try to make them feel at ease so that they will be able to deliver their lines well.

"At the same time, they must be able to put aside their ego and be willing to learn from their seniors," said the Sangkar star.
