#Showbiz: Elfira Loy's toddler being treated for lung infection

KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Elfira Loy has been worried about her 2-year-old son, Muhammad Rayyan Khalaf, who has been getting sick every now and then for an extended period.

She recently shared what was actually ailing her first-born who was currently receiving treatment for a lung infection.

In an Instagram post yesterday, she wrote: "This is the day that Mommy has been waiting for. Finally, an answer after a long period of being sick on and off."

"Today, Mommy felt compelled to see the doctor even though it seemed just like a cold or cough. So, we went to Andorra, did the rtk, and then got an X-ray done after the test cleared.

"The result came in, with infections in both lungs," she said.

The 27-year-old artiste whose full name is Nurul Elfira Loy Ahmad Sabri, added that her son had phlegm as well and that the doctor had said many children were getting pneumonia since it was the season.

"The ward is also currently full. Since Rayyan has no fever, can go back and do home monitoring first after two nebuliser sessions in the emergency ward just now. Hopefully he'll continue to be healthy," she said.

The Di Sebalik Kasyaf actress also advised mothers to get a second opinion and to be discerning about the medical care they receive for their children.

"This is not the first time we've gone for a check-up. We've already visited hospitals and clinics recently. Luckily, the doctor here wanted to do an X-ray. So we found out about the lung infections.

"If not, it just seemed like the flu or cough. Mommy has trust issues with which hospitals and clinics to go to.

"So mommies, if you don't feel good about your babies, just keep trying and go to different places," she said.

Elfira who married Muhamad Faris Khairol Anuar on Jan 1 of 2019, gave birth to her son on Oct 1 in the same year. She is currently expecting her second child.
