KUALA LUMPUR: The producer of Malaysia's reigning box office film Mat Kilau: Kebangkitan Pahlawan has some great news for its cast and crew.
Studio Kembara head Abdul Rahman Mat Dali said that since his team had done a splendid job, he would be rewarding them with umrah packages.
"Thank you everyone involved in the success of Mat Kilau: Kebangkitan Pahlawan. You have all made it the top Malaysian film of all time in terms of sales. For this reason, Studio Kembara has decided to reward the Mat Kilau team with special packages to perform their umrah in Mecca, Saudi Arabia," he said in a news report today.
Abdul Rahman also said that Studio Kembara had decided to help the needy as part of its corporate social responsibility by sharing its profits with orphans from various homes around the country.
"We plan to provide scholarships to orphans, and this will be done once Mat Kilau ends its run in cinemas," said Abdul Rahman.
On another note, Abdul Rahman said that it was unfortunate that Mat Kilau had also fallen victim to film piracy.
"We have made police reports on this, and also informed the Communications and Multimedia Ministry. We are monitoring all social media platforms to make sure that nobody has uploaded scenes from our film," he said, urging the public to inform them or the Ministry if they found such scenes on social media.
