KUALA LUMPUR: After a successful staging of Teater Muzikal Upin & Ipin — Pin Pin Pom! at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre's Plenary Hall last weekend, the show will now head to Singapore and Indonesia.
Les' Copaque Production's producer and managing director Burhanuddin Md Radzi said the musical would be staged in Singapore on Dec 18, and Indonesia slated for next year.
"Upin & Ipin has the potential of becoming a global product, so we hope to do a continuous tour for this brand outside Malaysia.
"However as we are well aware of the high cost of a theatre production, we hope this tour will be received well as we plan to do a yearly or biennially tour," he said in a news report today
Burhanuddin also expressed confidence with the organisers in Singapore who would be handling the staging there.
"They have impressive portfolio with shows staged in Macau, Hong Kong and Singapore, staging products originating from South Korea and the United States," he said.
