#Showbiz: SoundCircus Weekender to rock music fans in March

KUALA LUMPUR: Popular Indonesian rock bands, The Sigit and Mooner, will be performing during the SoundCircus Weekender music festival, set to take place at RexKL here on March 4 and 5.

The two-day event will also feature local bands and artistes such as Sweetass, Bunkface, Noh Salleh & Restoe Iboe Band, Iqbal M, Flop Poppy, Asyrfnsir, Yonny Boii, Kmy Kmo, and Lucka Sickta.

Completing the exciting line-up are Budak Nakal Hujung Simpan, Jemson, Margasatwa, Impatient Sisters, Republic of Brickfields, A.C.A.B, Grey Sky Morning, and Naratu.

Organised by Art of Speed Malaysia (AOSM) together with BRO ASIA, the SoundCircus Weekender music festival will start at 10am and continue into the night on both days.

In a recent statement, AOSM and SoundCircus Weekender festival director, Asep Ahmad Iskandar said, "One of the highlights will be a Battle of The Bands session to be held in the afternoon featuring ten new bands from various genres, including indie, rock, and reggae."

Asep added that the music festival would be a standalone event without the annual AOSM shows normally held at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park (MAEPS), Serdang.

The SoundCircus music event began in 2017 as a small-scale gig with the aim of providing a special platform for mainly underground artists and music-makers to showcase their work.

By 2019, the overwhelming response from visitors saw the venue being shifted outside the main hall to accommodate 5,000 people.

Tickets to the upcoming SoundCircus Weekender event are priced from RM158 for a two-day entry pass.
