SINGAPORE: Sensational K-Pop group BlackPink fought the heat and rocked the stage in front of about 50,000 fans during the Blackpink World Tour Born Pink concert held at the National Stadium on Saturday.
According to the The Straits Times report, members Jennie, Lisa, Rose and Jisoo took the stage at 8pm, opening the 105-minute show with a string of five hits – How You Like That, Pretty Savage, Whistle, Don't Know What To Do and Lovesick Girls.
Each member also showcased their solo songs with Jennie performing You And Me, Rose with her English numbers Hard To Love and On The Ground, Lisa with Lalisa and Money, and Jisoo performing her new hit Flower.
"It is very, very, very hot today. My face is melting.", the report quoted Jennie as saying on the first night of the concert on Saturday. The quartet will perform again at the same venue today.
Bernama reported that Singapore recorded a temperature of 37.0°C yesterday, matching the all-time record of 37.0°C for the highest daily maximum temperature reported 40 years ago.
The report said the high temperature was recorded at Ang Mo Kio.
Earlier in the day, The Straits Times report said thousands of Blackpink fans began forming informal queues for security checks before noon.
Temperatures at the time, soared to a high of 33°C.
Blackpink last performed in Singapore in 2019.
