KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian badminton legend Datuk Lee Chong Wei and his family received a surprise visit from a very special guest at his mother's 70th birthday party last Saturday.
Singapore entertainment portal 8days reported on Monday that Hong Kong singer Hacken Lee came to the Malaysian International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) to surprise Chong Wei and family.
Hacken who was joined by his wife Emily Lo thrilled and surprised the retired shuttler, who shared a video of them chatting on Instagram Stories.
"Thanks for the surprise," he wrote.
Hacken later reposted the video with the caption: "It's rare to meet up with a good friend. I wish Mama Lee a happy birthday".
Hacken and Chong Wei are old friends who share a love for badminton and have posted photos of themselves playing the game in the past.
Chong Wei has also attended many of Hacken's Malaysian concerts.
During their trip, Hacken and Emily also met up with other Hong Kong stars at another birthday gathering.
Among them were Natalius Chan and his wife Cecilia Wong, Hugo Ng and his wife Lily Chung, actress Alice Wong as well as former actress Elizabeth Tsui Ga Bo.
