KUALA LUMPUR: Pop queen Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza has seldom performed duets with actor and rocker Datuk Awie, but an official collaboration between the two giants of Malaysian music is in her new album.
In a recent interview with Kool 101 radio, Siti revealed that one of the songs in Sitism was a duet with the Wings lead singer and Sue On star.
"Yes, Datuk Awie and I have a duet amongst the 12 songs in Sitism. I've always wanted to sing a duet with him and I'm overjoyed that he has finally said yes. Best of all it is not a type of song normally associated with him," she said.
Sitism was unveiled on July 1 with 8 songs. Siti's 20th studio album reached number one on streaming platforms Apple Music and iTunes of Malaysia and Brunei.
The complete album with 12 songs will be released next month.
Jointly produced by Universal Music Malaysia and Siti Nurhaliza Productions, the album features collaborations between Siti and composers Aubrey Suwito, Melly Goeslaw, Sharon Paul, Andi Rianto, Luca Sickta and Tomok.
