KUALA LUMPUR: Popular fashion designer Datuk Jovian Mandagie has revealed that he and wife, Nina Ismail Sabri, had been divorced since August.
He made the announcement via Instagram (IG) yesterday, and added that he and Nina, who is also the daughter of former ninth Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, had an amicable split.
"Some marriages are special and were made to last a lifetime, but ours is special for it has evolved into a friendship that will last a lifetime.
"In August, we mutually decided to end our 10-year marriage for reasons we believe are best. We've discovered that as friends and co-parents to Jeanelle, we share a different kind of love that we have come to appreciate.
"Ensuring Jeanelle's happiness remains our top priority, and so far, we've been doing wonderfully, Alhamdulillah. Our love towards our parents and families has not changed either.
"We have faith in Allah's plan, knowing He is the greatest planner." he wrote in the post.
He added: "Over the past decade, many of you have been part of our journey. We'll always hold those years close to our hearts. Your support for #Jovianina has been invaluable, and we hope you'll continue to support and love us as you always have."
Jovian, who would have been celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary on Dec 11, also said he was moved by the positive support from his followers on social media.
"Yesterday, we held a live session on TikTok and were touched by the lovely comments about us as a couple. We felt it was important for us to share this with all of you.
"While this news may be unexpected, please trust that we are both in a good place. Whatever you see on both our social media for the past four months is as real as it gets.
"We can't possibly hate or even have a tinge of dislike for each other after sharing a life together for almost a decade.
"Thanks again for your prayers and support as we embark in this separate new chapter in our lives. Thank you for your unwavering love and support for #JoviaNina over the years.
"We appreciate and love you all very much," he said.
Jovian and Nina Sabrina tied the knot on Dec 11, 2013 and are blessed with a 6-year-old daughter, Jeanelle Nika Mandagie.
