#Showbiz: Datuk Red sets up TikTok account as last effort to look for job

KUALA LUMPUR: After revealing that he was bankrupt and had been looking for a job since 2019, Datuk Seri Adnan Abu a.k.a. Datuk Red, recently set up a TikTok account in an effort to make ends meet to support his family and pay off his debts.

In a two-minute-and-nineteen-second TikTok video, the 46-year-old husband of singer Adira Suhaimi was seen thanking people who had sent him encouraging online messages.

"This is no drama but my last effort to earn a living," he said.

In an interview by an entertainment portal yesterday, Adnan admitted that he had been jobless for the past five years, after his joint venture project with a property developer went awry and landed him in hot soup.

"Initially, the money I owed was about RM90,000, (but with compound interest etc) the total now is somewhere between RM5mil to RM7mil.

He admitted that the project was his big mistake and he has since been looking for a job suitable for his age, but to no avail.

"I even had to borrow RM100 from Adira, just to buy food for my children for them to buka puasa with," he said in the interview.

Meanwhile, he is also in the midst of a divorce proceeding, after Adira filed for divorce for the second time on Oct 25 last year.

They married on Dec 3, 2015 in Songkhla, Thailand.

They have four children, namely Anggrek, 7; Asan, 6; Anggun, 5; and Ayub, 2.

His first wife, Datin Seri Sharifah Norshafil Hassim also filed for divorce in January. The two have five children.
