KUALA LUMPUR: Local all-girl pop quartet Dolla is down to three members now, following Noor Syasya Afiqah Shahrizal's decision to withdraw for personal reasons.
In a statement from the group's label today, Universal Music Malaysia managing director Kim Lim said that Syasya, 23, made her own decision and they all wished her the best.
"Although we receive this news with a heavy heart, we respect Syasya's decision and continue to wish her the best in her journey," said Lim.
Lim added that remaining members Sabrina Rusli or Sabronzo, Tabby Lam, and Angel Chai will continue entertaining fans as Dolla.
"We have made several plans to grow Dolla's career in the Southeast Asian market, and we will continue to work towards this goal."
Tabby said: "We are, of course, saddened by this situation, but as a group, we support Syasya in her decision and remain here for her."
Angel said: "The bond we have built over the years is strong, and we continue to see Syasya as our family."
Sabrina said: "The three of us are committed to continuing Dolla's musical journey and we will work hard to make our fans proud."
Last month, Dolla represented Malaysia in the Chinese reality show, Show It All, produced by Lay Zhang of K-pop group Exo.
Show It All featured several girl groups from around the world as guest artistes and is currently screened on Chinese television station, MangoTV.
Dolla was formed in 2019 and its first single was Dolla Make You Wanna, released in March 2020.
To date, the group has released six singles including BAD, Impikan, and New Classic.
