#Showbiz: 'My mother still holds our land title' - Amar Baharin

KUALA LUMPUR: Actor Amar Baharin has revealed that a recent update by the Selangor Land and Mines Department concerning his mother's land title proved that she was the rightful holder of it.

Amar, 39, said in an interview with Harian Metro today that his mother Norhayati Abd Aziz, 62, was still the rightful owner of their family property in Semenyih near Kajang, Selangor.

Amar also said that he would continue to "press for answers" from the authorities, following the recent discovery of two separate land grants for his family property in Semenyih.

"I have been in discussions with the department since last Friday. An officer from the department told me about this overlap and assured me that the matter was being investigated," said Amar.

Amar, who communicated with the department on social media, also said that he was awaiting their explanation on why certain individuals were allowed to erect a structure on his mother's land.

"The reason why I'm highlighting this on social media is because many people have undergone similar problems and want to know how the department works to resolve it."

The plight of Amar and his mother has also received the attention of Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari who ordered the department to conduct a thorough investigation into the two separate land grants.
