KUALA LUMPUR: In conjunction with the Ningyo: Art and Beauty of Japanese Dolls exhibition currently happening at Muzium Negara, here, visitors can immerse themselves in Japanese traditions during the Japanese Cultural Day tomorrow.
The free one-day event, happening from 10am to 4pm, will feature various workshops, demonstrations, Japanese food and a cosplay competition organised with Animagaki.
While there, visitor's can also experience the Ningyo exhibition that showcases various dolls from all over Japan, allowing visitors to learn about the cultural significance and the role of dolls in Japanese society from the seventh century to the present day.
The dolls reflect the customs and aspirations of the people and possess distinctive regional attributes and diverse forms.
Visitors can also admire traditional Japanese craft products such as textiles at the exhibition which runs until July 8.
The Ningyo exhibition which is a ticketed event is co-organised by the Japan Foundation, the Department of Museums Malaysia, the Ministry of National Unity, and the Embassy of Japan.
