KUALA LUMPUR: In the hope of clearing the air concerning the recent debacle between local media and Indonesia's young singer Putri Ariani, Megatix Sdn Bhd recently issued an apology statement on the misunderstanding.
In the statement, Megatix, the organiser for the upcoming Walker World Tour 2024, regretted that the debacle arose at the press conference held to announce the concert slated to take place at Sunway Lagoon on June 22.
"This is to address the recent misunderstanding and extend sincere apologies regarding the unfortunate incident which had subsequently resurfaced on social media in the past few days.
"As it involved our esteemed guest artiste Putri Ariani, who is slated to perform alongside Alan Walker at the concert, it is with utmost sincerity that we seek to rectify any negative perceptions unfairly attributed to her as the unwarranted criticisms may adversely affect Putri Ariani's emotional well-being, potentially impacting her performance (at the concert,)" said Megatix director Ridzuan Mohammad.
He added that what transpired at the press conference unfolded beyond Megatix's awareness as the briefing had been entrusted to a third party.
Earlier, social media was abuzz with what was claimed as unprofessional behaviour exhibited by the blind singer, when she didn't seem to address the questions asked by the press at the event properly, before leaving the venue for a quick bite as she didn't eat her breakfast in the morning.
Members of the media waited for several hours, before they realised that the singer was not coming back to continue the interview session.
Putri Ariani, who recently performed as one of the guest performers at Melly Goeslaw's concert at Axiata Arena, became Indonesia's pride when she received the Golden Buzzer from Simon Cowell when she took part in 'America's Got Talent 2023'.
