KUALA LUMPUR: English singer-songwriter Zayn Malik admits that the 'Nin Jiom Pei Pa Kao' or 'Cap Ibu & Anak' cough syrup does wonders for his vocal cords.
The 31-year-old artiste said this during a recent interview with British Vogue online where he disclosed that he carries the popular herbal medicine wherever he goes in his bag.
In the video clip, Zayn showed off the familiar box containing the medicine that he described as his special elixir.
"This here is honey from China which is ridiculously good for your vocal cords.
"I call it my special elixir. I take this everywhere I go, especially if I'm singing," he said.
The former One Direction member added that he mixes it with a bit of water before drinking it.
The clip has since been flooded with comments by netizens who expressed their surprise at seeing the product that most Malaysians have grown up with.
"Sales of Cap Ibu & Anak medicine will skyrocket after this," wrote one netizen.
Another said: "This is my all-time favourite, especially when I'm coming down with a sore throat."
"No way he knows about it," wrote yet one more commenter.
"After seeing this, I automatically feel like singing the jingle for Cap Ibu & Anak."
