#SHOWBIZ: If the cap fits, wear it, says Ramona Zamzam on spicy critic of celebrities lacklustre support for Palestine

KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Ramona Zamzam says she's not worried about ruffling feathers following her recent Instagram Story entry which criticised some local celebrities for their seemingly half-hearted support towards Palestine.

She said that while it was meant for those who had initially played safe by not voicing out their support for Palestine and criticising the Zionist regime in Israel, she didn't pinpoint anyone in particular.

"If anyone feels offended by that, then it's not my fault. Go ahead, be offended.

"While I admit that there are many superficial characters in the industry, this is just too much.

"Why have some of these celebrities, who have hordes of followers on social media, been keeping quiet about Israel's atrocities, until there's this threat of them being boycotted?" she questioned.

She added that it was the duty of Muslims to do what they can to help fight the injustice that is happening in the West Bank.

"But some of us chose to play it safe," said Ramona, 33, who is married to a Palestinian named Rami Alashkar.

"Don't tell me that you won't even stand up for our brothers and sisters in Palestine.

"All you need to is just spread the message across to your many social media followers," said Ramona, who is part of the cast of the new police drama series, 'Polis Peronda', slated to premier on TV3 on June 28.
