#SHOWBIZ: Ustaz Don's 'Don Give Up' radio segment taken off air

KUALA LUMPUR: After creating headlines early last month when he was relieved from hosting duties on RTM's 'Salam Baitullah', controversial preacher Ustaz Don Daniyal has been axed from another show.

According to Berita Harian, Ustaz Don's weekly segment Don Give Up on Suria FM's Morning-Morning Suria slot from 8-9am on Fridays has been taken off air for the time being starting from today.

This follows a directive issued by the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais).

"On our side, everything and the radio station are all okay. The radio station is only following orders and we respect that.

"They are waiting for a decision (official) and so are we," said the 39-year-old celebrity preacher in the news report today.

Ustaz Don had been handling the particular radio segment since Jan 1, 2023, in which he answers questions from listeners pertaining to religious matters.

On June 5, he was relieved from hosting RTM's 'Salam Baitullah', following a viral discussion on his views relating to the Prophet Muhammad's life.

It was also reported on June 21 that Jais had issued a directive to all agencies, mosques, and surau to refrain from inviting him for talks at their premises.
