#SHOWBIZ: Chef Wan fumes over overdue renovation works at his parents' house in Felda Sungai Koyan

KUALA LUMPUR: Celebrity chef Datuk Redzuan Ismail a.k.a. Chef Wan is disappointed with a contractor he hired to renovate his parents' house in Raub, Pahang.

In a series of recent posts on his Instagram, the outspoken personality ranted about his dissatisfaction over the progress of the renovation works, which was supposed to have wrapped up in May.

"When the renovation began in February, the contractor had promised to try and complete it at the latest in May.

"That's what is written in our contract," he wrote.

When the work could not be completed as promised, Chef Wan extended the deadline by giving the contractor until July 31.

"But when I went back after two weeks, I didn't see any progress from the last time I went to check on the house," he said.

Chef Wan added that he had already paid the contractor 80 per cent of the total payment agreed, which amounted to about RM420,000.

He explained that he had chosen the contractor, as suggested by his acquaintance, to try to give business to a local business operator, but instead, his well-meaning gesture wasn't reciprocated by delivering a good job on time.

"It's annoying when you try to help people, but they don't deliver as agreed in the contract.

"How do you justify your work schedule against all the payment you've asked from me, and which I had already paid 80 per cent (of the total payment)?

"Duit nak, but work is only half done and is already more than two months' behind time," he said.
