KUALA LUMPUR: Ombak Rindu director Osman Ali said that if he knew an actor well, he would rebuke him if he got too close to his female co-star on the set.
In an interview with Harian Metro yesterday, Osman said that it was the director's right to remind actors working with him not to create controversy by getting too close to an actress in the same drama.
Osman said: "Every director has a choice whether to reprimand or simply carry out his duties without interfering in the actor's personal matters.
"As for me, it depends on my closeness to the actor. I can rebuke such actors, but I will not do so when it comes to new actors who have just started working with me," he said.
Osman said that to limit interaction between an actor and the actress he gets intimate with, he would separate their wardrobe rooms and reduce the number of scenes they have together.
"So far so good, I have yet to face an actor who gets too close to his female co-star," said Osman.
