KUALA LUMPUR: Comedian Harith Iskander and his ex-wife Dr Jezamine Lim have promised to remain good friends, as parents of three children, following their divorce.
Dr Jezamine said in a Berita Harian news report today that she hoped that netizens refrained from speculating about the cause of their divorce, and added that "nobody was at fault".
"Harith already said that he made some mistakes, and we should respect him for that. What is important is, we forgive and forget and move on," she said at the Federal Territories Syariah Court.
Dr Jezamine added that as a parent, she and Harith were both sad that their marriage ended, but what was more important was getting along well as friends and parents to their children.
"We have pledged to always keep in touch for the sake of our children. I am still his manager too," she said, adding that Harith fully supported her in all endeavours.
Dr Jezamine advised women to be strong and independent in facing life's challenges.
"What's important is, we overcome hurdles, learn from them and move on wiser," she said.
Harith and Dr Jezamine were divorced in the court at 12.05pm with a single talak and the case was presided by Syarie judge Siti Noraini Mohd Ali.
Dr Jezamine filed for divorce from Harith last June 24.
They were married on June 12, 2010 and have three children Zander Xayne, 14, Alessandra Jayne, 11 and Zydane Zayne, 9.
