KUALA LUMPUR: Harith Iskander's ex-wife, Dr Jezamine Lim denies accusations that their divorce was caused by the popular actor and comedian cheating on her with a beauty queen.
Admitting to knowing of the woman in question, Dr Jezamine emphasised that they were not close friends but just aquantainces, according to Berita Harian.
"It's just speculation, don't take it seriously. Don't focus on her, it's a waste of time. They just know each other like that.
"Not friends, just meet meet at events. Just 'hi hi' and 'bye bye'. Not someone to hangout or go out together with," she said in the news report.
Lim added that news of their divorce had attracted negative people who want to capitalise on the hot topic.
"For me, since this issue gets media attention, certain people would want to take the opportunity to capitalise on it.
"So, now I know who our real friends are and who wants to get media attention," she said.
Lim was met after completing the proceedings for the hadanah and matrimonal assets claims at the Federal Territory Syariah High Court, here, today.
When asked if any women had contacted her after the rumors emerged, Lim said she was reluctant to be in contact with anyone who brought negativity to her life.
"I don't want to be in contact with anyone after the divorce. This is because Harith and I don't want to have a relationship with negative individuals.
"If we know someone is like that, we just stay away from them," she said.
Meanwhile, Harith said that he did not know anything about the rumors and feels that someone is using the issue to gain media attention.
"I can sincerely tell you that I don't read any stories from netizens. For me, there are people who will take the opportunity to get attention for themselves.
"For me, things like this will get hot for a moment and then, they'll just die out," he said.
