#SHOWBIZ: Sissy Imann's winning maiden showcase

SINGER Sissy Imann is overjoyed that her inaugural music showcase at the Damansara Performing Arts Centre's (DPAC) Blackbox in Petaling Jaya, Selangor recently was a sold-out affair.

The 28-year-old artiste is also touched that many fellow celebrities, such as Wani Kayrie, Sarah Suhairi, Afieq Shazwan, Aisha Retno, Wany Hasrita, AG Coco, and Amira Othman, had turned up to watch her in action.

Sissy admits she was nervous to perform before seasoned singers that included Datuk Syafinaz Selamat, Ernie Zakri and Syamel.

"Alhamdulillah, I am very relieved, surprised and happy.

"I saw so many people attending, not just fans but music industry friends as well," she said in a 'Berita Harian' report recently.

Sissy, who has been in the industry for a decade, said additional seats were required to accommodate the audience.

"I didn't think 120 people would want to see my show. But we sold all the tickets and had to add 30 more seats."

The 90-minute show saw Sissy perform around 14 songs, including 'Balang Boneka', 'Ribut', 'Ain't Gonna Spoil My Day', 'I Wish You Love', 'Can't Take My Eyes Off You', 'Bebas', 'Namaku Padamu', 'Cinta Seadanya' and 'Pesanan Ayahanda'.

She also performed duets with Naim Daniel, Sarah Suhairi and her father, Mohammad Kamil Mustaffa.

The showcase also featured a live band made up of electric guitarist Irena Taib, acoustic guitarist Anwar Amzah, violinist Nisa Addina, bassist Melina William and drummer Ruviyamin.
