KUALA LUMPUR: The convoy for the 36th edition of the Anugerah Bintang Popular Berita Harian (ABPBH) tour to the Jom Heboh Carnival in Penang departed from Balai Berita at 10.25am this morning.
The convoy is riding in Suzuki Jimny vehicles, made possible through a logistics partnership with Naza Eastern Motors Sdn Bhd.
The New Straits Times Press group managing editor and Berita Harian group editor Datuk Ahmad Zaini Kamaruzzaman, along with the Naza Eastern Motors chief operating officer Mohd Irwan Shahril flagged off the group.
Mohd Irwan said the collaboration would add value and further strengthen the vehicle brand in commenting on the partnership.
"What's important is that the logistics collaboration with Berita Harian provides greater exposure for the Suzuki Jimny brand and model.
"Additionally, it offers a new experience for drivers, in terms of driving control, comfort, and its unique appeal," he said.
He said the ABPBH brand could strengthen Naza Eastern Motors' position as the distributor and provider of after-sales services for the Japanese vehicle brand.
"The most important aspect is the marketing as we see that ABPBH has its own strong brand," said Irwan.
"To some extent, (ABPBH) can elevate the Suzuki Jimny brand, especially Naza Eastern Motors, to a higher level," he said.
Among the Top 20 candidates in the convoy are Trisha Ooi and The Gadys, who made it to the Popular Female New Artist category, along with Fieya Julia, known for her hit song "Cukup" which is nominated in the Most Popular Song category.
In conjunction with the grand finale of ABPBH 36, taking place on October 11, the organiser, Berita Harian, is providing an opportunity for visitors at KJH to showcase their artistic talents by participating in the 'Bintang Idola BH' singing competition at the ABPBH 36 booth.
