KUALA LUMPUR: Comedian and content creator Nigel Ng, also known as Uncle Roger, appears to know the recipe for pleasing disgruntled customers.
The Straits Times reported yesterday that customers had complained about the "pricey" dishes at his new fried rice restaurant Fuiyoh! It's Uncle Roger at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur in Jalan Bukit Bintang here.
The restaurant also has branches in MyTown Mall, Taman Maluri and IPC Shopping Centre in Mutiara Damansara, Petaling Jaya.
One food content creator criticised the slow service at the Pavilion outlet and said that she waited an hour for her plate of fried rice to be served, while other netizens felt the price of RM18 for basic tomato fried rice was expensive.
Ng, 33, subsequently announced that the prices of his food items will be lowered.
In an Instagram post on Dec 17, he wrote: "Uncle Roger wants to confirm all fried rice and noodles are now RM16 at all outlets. Fuiyoh!"
Ng went viral in 2020 for criticising a BBC Food video on egg fried rice.
Uncle Roger previously joked in a TikTok video for food content channel Best Food Malaysia that he lowered the prices because MyTown Mall was less upscale than Pavilion.
He said: "Pavilion ground floor has Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Hermes. MyTown ground floor has Mr DIY, haiya! If you have a shopping mall with Mr DIY, cannot charge RM18, too expensive."
