KUALA LANGAT: A 3.6 meter long crocodile, weighing close to 400 kilogrammes, was captured by Banting firemen at Jalan Bukit Perah, Kampung Olak Lempit, in Banting last night.
The Banting Fire and Rescue station had received a distress call at 9.40pm and a 10 men team were dispatched to the scene, said its chief Jaslizad Jalil.
He said the operations started when his men arrived at the village 15 minutes later.
"The crocodile turned aggressive during our attempts to capture it. However, it was caught after two hours.
"It will be handed over to the Paya Indah Wetlands Department of Wildlife and Natural Parks (Perhilitan)," said Jaslizad.
