KEMAMAN: A 33-year-old factory operator was killed when his motorcycle hit a car at a junction in Telok Kalong, here, this morning.
According to a source, the victim, Norasmi Haloh from Kampung Geliga Baru, here, died on the way to Kemaman Hospital after the 11.45am incident which occurred at KM145 Jalan Lama Kuala Terengganu-Kuantan.
The source said Norasmi who suffered serious head injuries, was heading to his workplace at Telok Kalong from Kuala Kemaman.
"His machine collided with the Proton Preve drove by a 28-year-old engineer who was heading towards Telok Kalong from Kampung Kijal, " he said adding that the car driver escaped unhurt.
Meanwhile Acting District police chief Deputy Superintendent Normanshah Din who confirmed the incident said the case was being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road and Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving and causing death.
