BUTTERWORTH: Fire broke out from an express bus travelling south on the North-South Expressway today.
Passengers on board the bus had a brief scare in the 9.20am incident but managed to escape from the blaze in time unscathed.
A firemen spokesman said the flame destroyed about 70 per cent of the bus at km149.7 at the expressway near Batu Kawan.
"Our initial investigations showed the fire started from the rear," he said.
He said the firemen managed to put out the flame in 20 minutes.
