It is a big day for Malaysians today, celebrating the country’s 58th Independence Day.

Thousands has thronged to Dataran Merdeka this morning to celebrate the joyful and memorable occasion for the nation.

The public were seen carrying the Jalur Gemilang while some wore patriotic colours such as red and blue as they lined up along the streets hoping to catch the national parade.

Many have come to show their love for the country to commemorate the day when the Union flag was taken down replaced with the national flag which is now known as the Jalur Gemilang.
