KUALA LUMPUR: Clearer skies can be seen nationwide with the haze reducing rapidly with only one area showing unhealthy reading.
As of 10am today, the Department of Environment’s (DOE) readings showed that only Pasir Gudang recorded an unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) reading at 104.
Another 36 areas recorded moderate reading with the highest at Larkin Lama (85) and Port Klang and Kota Tinggi at 84 each.
Pahang, Kelantan, Terengganu and Perlis recorded the best air quality with all monitoring stations recording a good API reading.
The latest readings showed 15 areas with good air quality while the reading for Port Dickson was unavailable.
An API of between 0 to 50 is considered good, 51 to 100 (moderate), 101 to 200 (unhealthy), 201 to 300 (very unhealthy), 301 and above (hazardous). The public can refer to the apims.doe.gov.my portal to get the latest API readings.
