KUALA LUMPUR: A continuation of the road closure for MRT construction at Sprint Highway and Cheras-Kajang Highway will take place starting Oct 5 till Oct 31.
MMC-Gamuda KVMRT (T) Sdn Bhd, which is the project delivery partner, said among the roads affected is SPRINT Highway/Jalan Semantan for 24 hours daily starting in front of the 10 Semantan Suites until the junction of Jalan Damansara Endah.
“During this closure, two lanes will be made available for motorists from Kuala Lumpur heading towards Petaling Jaya (PJ),” it said in a statement today.
“The full night closure of the SPRINT Highway/ Jalan Semantan (both Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya-bound) will take place from 10pm to 5am (Monday to Friday) and 12am (Saturday) to 12pm (Sunday) and the closure will be done intermittently from KM7.4 till KM8.1.
“Motorists from Kuala Lumpur heading to Petaling Jaya on the SPRINT Highway/Jalan Semantan will be diverted up the ramp to Istana Pintu 2 into Lorong Dungun, straight to Jalan Gelanggang and then turn left to Jalan Beringin and underneath the flyover to join the Sprint Highway.
“Motorists from Kuala Lumpur heading to Jalan Damansara, Jalan Jelutong and Jalan Damansara Endah will be diverted up the Istana Pintu 2 ramp, into Lorong Dungun, straight to Jalan Gelanggang, then left to Jalan Beringin and underneath the flyover to join the Sprint Highway, passing Pusat Bandar Damansara and up the ramp before connecting to Jalan Damansara, Jalan Jelutong and Jalan Damansara Endah,” it added.
Motorist from Petaling Jaya heading back to PJ/Bangsar will be diverted onto Jalan Damanlela, turning left into Jalan Damansuria before connecting back to Sprint Highway.
The statement said the Sprint flyover near Pusat Bandar Damansara (PJ-bound) will undergo a medium-term full road closure starting from 10pm to 6am (Monday to Friday) and 12am (Saturday) to 12pm (Sunday) intermittently.
During the closure, motorists from KL heading towards PJ will be diverted to turn into Jalan Johar and then turning left into Jalan Beringin.
At the roundabout, take the second exit to continue on Jalan Beringin and turning left at the junction to go to Persiaran Bukit Kiara before joining Sprint Highway to go to PJ, while motorists from KL to Jalan Maarof will not be affected, it added.
Apart from that, the continuation of the right-most lane closure from Kiara Interchange to Wisma Lensa (KL and PJ Bound) from 10am till 4pm and 10pm till 6am, (off peak daily); Jalan Maarof from the junction of Jalan Medang Serai to Maarof Interchange for both bounds (10pm to 6am).
“Continuation of the lane closure next to Sprint Highway (Damansara Toll Plaza) (10pm till 6am) and Sprint Highway after Petronas Station, Section 16 KL Bound (Monday to Friday, 10pm to 6am and 12am on Saturday to 12pm on Sunday).
“Meanwhile, continuation of lane closure will take place from Oct 5 till Oct 30 at KM14.4 until KM14.8 on Cheras Kajang Highway (10pm till 5am); Exit 702, Hulu Langat Interchange, Kajang Bound and Exit 703, Telekom Interchange, Kajang Bound, Cheras Kajang Highway (10pm till 5am); Exit 702, Hulu Langat Interchange, Kl Bound (10pm till 5am) and KM13.3 until KM13.6 Cheras-Kajang Highway (9am till 4pm),” said the statement.
According to the statement, the road that is also affected is at KM10.7 until KM10.10 on Cheras-Kajang Highway (9am till 4pm); Batu 11 toll booth of Cheras-Kajang Highway (9am till 4pm); Exit 701 at the PGA Interchange Cheras Kajang Highway (10pm till 5am) and Exit 703 Telekom Interchange on Cheras-Kajang Highway (10pm till 5am). -- Bernama
