KUALA KANGSAR: A 50-year-old teacher was killed while his wife was injured after the car he was driving skidded and crashed into a road divider at KM256 of the North-South Expressway this afternoon.
In the 3.10pm incident, the victim, identified as Mohamad Faizun Ahmad, died on the spot due to severe head and body injuries. His wife, seated on the front passenger seat, sustained only minor injury.
A police spokesman said initial investigation showed that they were travelling to Kuala Kangsar from Ipoh before the teacher suddenly lost control of his Proton Iriz and rammed into the road divider on his left.
"The car rammed into the left road divider. Due to the impact, the victim was killed on the spot,"
"The victim was taken to the Kuala Kangsar Hospital for post-mortem. His wife, also a teacher, received treatment at the same hospital," he added.
