NIBONG TEBAL: A car passenger died while the driver was injured in a crash involving a car and an express bus near here early this morning.
The Fire and Rescue Department was alerted to the incident at 4.36am at Km155.9 of the North–South Expressway.
Operations officer Mohd Safi @ Roslan Abdullah said when they arrived at the scene, they found the crash involving a Proton Gen -2 and a Scania express bus.
"A 30-year-old passenger was pinned to his seat and confirmed dead by paramedics at the scene.
"The 40-year-old driver was pinned to his seat and was successfully extricated by firefighters. He sustained facial injuries," he said.
Mohd Safi said the body of the deceased was handed over to police for further action.
