KUALA LUMPUR: Police have identified the driver of a car shown driving recklessly in a recently circulated viral video.
Bukit Aman Federal Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department Director Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said police have identified and located one of the vehicle drivers and investigations are still ongoing.
"Yes, I received the video and investigations are underway. Preliminary investigations reveal that the incident occurred at Kilometer (KM) 48 of the North-South Expressway heading south. So far, we have managed to detect and identify one of the drivers involved," he said when contacted today.
He said the case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act (APJ) 1987.
Earlier, a 36-second video recording showing two cars appearing to race at high speed went viral on social media today.
The footage also showed the two vehicles overtaking several others and using the emergency lane on the highway.
