KLANG: Motorists heading to Setia Alam and Meru this afternoon were caught in a traffic jam near Klang Central after roads leading to the two areas were flooded following a heavy downpour.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department's Operations assistant director Mohd Sani Harul attributed the 5pm congestion to heavy rain that started at 4pm around Klang Valley.
He said among the roads affected were Jalan Meru heading towards Setia Alam, and from Klang Central to Meru.
The water rose quickly to between 0.5 and 0.7 metre deep, he added.
"The flashflood has led to a massive traffic jam at the area, and traffic police were being deployed to handle the situation.
"However, things return to normal two hours later when the floodwater receded." he said.
